Culebras's Activity
Puerto Rico Youth Challenge Academy celebrated its traditional camping trip to Culebra Island from 2-7 of July. In this activity, cadets had the opportunity to learn about wild life and nature, participate in various sports activities and tournaments, perform community service and enjoy the beautiful beaches of Culebra.
As part of a community service activity, cadets Carlos Hernndez and Geovannie Lpez build 40 cigarette butts scale models to represent collection points as an initiative to help maintaining beaches clean. For this particular activity, cadets received the visit of the Adjuntant General, military key personnel and media. At the end of their camping, cadets collected the cigarette butts and disposed of them.
After a long and productive week, cadets returned safely to Fort Allen to continue with the academic schedule as planned.
