Academic Curriculum
The ultimate goal of this course is to provide each Corpsmember with the educational tools needed to survive and compete in the job market. To instill in each Corpsmember a desire to improve oneself through lifelong learning, the Corpsmember will:

Demonstrate academic growth in post-TABE testing.

Enroll in higher-level education program.

Enroll in vocational training program.

Demonstrate the ability to use library resources.

Demonstrate the ability to do research.

Demonstrate writing ability.

Demonstrate knowledge of computers and information management.
Performance Objectives:
The Corpsmember will participate in an intense academic program designed to help him or her to achieve these goals:
- Focus on a well balanced, rigorous curriculum centered on basic educational skills, personal development and leadership skills.

Channel each Corpsmember to further vocational schooling, employment or collegiate studies. Each Corpsmember will be followed up through a mentorship program that provides him or her with mentors upon successful completion of the program.
Academics will include the following minimum subject areas of: English, Spanish, Literature and Arts, Social Studies, Science, Computer and Mathematics. The Corps member will be encouraged to excellence in all subject matters by all staff and members of the program.
Although the academics portion of the program is of the most importance to the Corps member, it is the intent of the program to develop a more rounded citizen whose achievements will include development of individual leadership, learning for life skills and success in his or hers life endeavors. The Corps member will become a productive, independent, respectful citizen capable of contributing to the welfare of his or her community.
