Is there a cost to the cadet?
Parents are not required to pay tuition or other costs associated with the program. The course is free to those accepted; however some clothing items may have to be purchased.

What ages do you accept?
Applicants must be between 16 and 18 years of age on the start date.

When can I visit my cadet?
Approximately eight weeks and again around week twelve we have Family Days where you are invited to come visit your Cadet onsite for a day.  One of these days there will be a Parent/Teacher conference for you to get a detailed update on your Cadet and how they are doing in all eight core components.  There will also be a Home Visit scheduled towards the end of the cycle to allow the Cadet to visit home and initiate the goals they have set for after graduation; for example applying for jobs and submitting resumes.

Does my child have to join the guard in order to complete the program?
There is NO military obligation for any of our Cadets.

How do I stay in touch with my cadet?
We encourage families to send mail everyday if they can.  Mail call is a time of day that all the cadets anxiously await.  They each have a phone call each week, unless it is restricted due to behavior.  We cannot mandate who they call, but can encourage them to call their parents. 

What is Home Break?
Home Break is in the last quarter of the residential phase and is typically 5-7 days long.  Parents/Guardians check their cadet out of the program for this period of time.  While home, each cadet is required to set up a project and complete at least four hours of community service, preferably alongside of their Mentor. This break is a time for the cadet to reaquaint with their families, and also to show their responsiblity that they have learned.  We also like them to use this time to find potential future employment opportunities if they are going to be moving back to their hometown upon graduation.
