Dear Parent(s) or Legal Guardian(s):

The 29th annual MS ChalleNGe Academy Family Picnic has been scheduled for Saturday, October 25, 2008 from 9:00AM until 2:00PM at Dogwood Lake.  Due to the increasing numbers of cadets and others who willfully disregard and ignore our instructions that Family Day attendance is to be limited to immediate family members only (I.E., NO BOYFRIENDS OR GIRLFRIENDS POSING AS BROTHERS, SISTERS, HALF-BROTHERS, HALF-SISTERS, STEPBROTHERS, STEPSISTERS, ETC), it has become necessary to enforce these additional restrictive measures this Saturday.  FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THESE INSTRUCTIONS WILL RESULT IN YOUR VEHICLE BEING TURNED AWAY AT THE GATE AND YOUR FAMILY DENIED THE OPPORTUNITY TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS EXCITING EVENT.

1.                  Each individual over the age of ten (10) years must present photo identification upon entry into the Dogwood lake area (State of Mississippi-issued ID card, State of Mississippi driver's license, military ID card, military dependent's ID card, or a school-issued ID card).   Failure on the part of any person in the vehicle to present this photo identification will result in the entire vehicle being turned away and your Family Day vehicle pass being confiscated.  Re-entry will not be permitted.

2.         The names and relationship to the cadet, along with addresses, of each vehicle occupant will be recorded at time of entry into the Dogwood Lake area.  These names and relationships will be verified next week to insure that all guests were in fact immediate family members.  If it is determined that non-family guests accompanied you to this Family Day event, YOUR CADET'S MOTHER'S DAY PASS WILL BE FORFEITED IN ITS ENTIRETY.  NO EXCEPTIONS.

3.         Individuals creating a disturbance during this verification process will be asked ONCE to depart.  Individuals failing to depart when asked are subject to arrest.

We regret that these measures have become necessary.  Your cadet has had this process explained to him/her in great detail this week.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact the undersigned at 601-558-2324 or LTC McCoy at 601-466-9036.

                                                                        Sincerely,

                                                                        William L. Crowson
