National Guard Youth Challenge The Mississippi ChalleNGe Academy (MCA) is part of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program. We serve male & female at-risk youth, 16-19 years of age. The MCA has graduated 28 classes to total 5,423 cadets to date.

Eligibility

The basic eligibility qualifications for acceptance into the program are: 

    1.  16-19 years of age and enter the program prior to their 20th birthday
    2.  A high school dropout/expellee
    3.  Citizen or legal resident of the United States and Mississippi resident
    4.  Unemployed
    5.  Not currently on parole or probation for anything other than juvenile status offenses.  Not serving time or awaiting sentencing, not under indictment or charged and not convicted of a felony or capital offense.
    6.  Free of illegal drugs in order to enter the residential phase

A mandatory drug screening will be conducted at the end of the Pre-ChalleNGe Phase.  Applicants may NOT proceed to the Residential ChalleNGe Phase if they test positive for the presence of illegal drugs.
