National Guard Youth Challenge The Mississippi ChalleNGe Academy (MCA) is part of the National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program. We serve male & female at-risk youth, 16-19 years of age. The MCA has graduated 28 classes to total 5,423 cadets to date.

Activities and Training

Below is shown, for illustrative purposes, a typical day at the Mississippi ChalleNGe Academy.  There are changes published occasionally throughout the Residential Phase; however, these changes remain in keeping with the daily routine illustrated below:

While at the Mississippi ChalleNGe Academy, cadets will have the opportunity to take/retake the ASVAB, register for the ACT, apply for grants and financial aid, and register for Selective Service (required of all 18 year olds).  Cadets are also able to obtain their driver's license and register to vote while at the Mississippi ChalleNGe Academy. Select cadets may also  take up to 15 semester hours of college or participate in vocational training while attending the Academy.
