     On July 29, 2007 at 7:00 PM 430 candidates walked across the stage of the Lincoln's Challenge Academy to receive their certificate of Pre-Challenge completion moving them from candidate status to cadet status.  With only a few days practice under their belt the Color Guard did an excellent job posting the colors to open the ceremony. 

Pastor Ken McCray was the keynote speaker and what a dynamic speech! The staff and cadets enjoyed music from the New Light Ensemble as well as a solo on the piano by Cadet Detronian Sherrod-Windham.  Cadets Eric Couch opened the ceremony with a prayer and Cadet Monikea Hatten closed with a prayer.  Good Luck to all and I am looking forward to shaking the hands of all 430 cadets as they cross the stage at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield, IL on 15 December 2007 receiving their Certificate of Completion.
