Eligibility
The basic eligibility qualifications for acceptance into the program are; applicants must be between the ages of 16-19 on class start date, free of illegal drugs, educationally at risk, mentally and physically capable to participate, Illinois resident, and not under indictment or convicted of a felony offense.
The following convictions will render an applicant ineligible to attend the Lincoln's Challenge Academy:
- Aggravated Assault or Aggravated Battery
- Armed Robbery or Robbery
- Arson
- Burglary
- Carnal Knowledge
- Indecent Acts or liberties with a minor
- Check worthless, making or uttering, with intent to defraud or deceive (over $1,000)
- Child Abuse
- Grand larceny or embezzlement (over $1,000)
- Indecent Assault
- Kidnapping or abducting
- Maiming or disfiguring, manslaughter
- Murder
- Negligent homicide
- Rape or criminal sexual assault
- Selling or leasing weapons to a minor
- Selling or distributing drugs or other narcotics
- Sodomy
A mandatory drug screen will be conducted on opening day. Applicants may not enter the PreChalleNGe Phase if they test positive for the presence of illegal drugs.
