SPC Tyler Loren Cremean: February 24,1984 to May 22, 2005

ChalleNGe Graduate Gave His Life Serving His Country!

CreameanSpc. Tyler Loren Creamean gave his life while serving his country in Iraq. On May 22, 2005, Spc Creamean lost his life when the tank he was in struck a land mine in Iraq.

He was a member of the 73rd Engineer Company.

Spc. Creamean graduated from the Arkansas National Guard Youth ChalleNGe Program in February 2003. His mother, Rebecca Callaway-Hout described her son as a selfless person who had room in his heart for everyone and "never met a stranger".

"He loved people from all walks of life," she said.  "Even at the end his colonel said he was yelling for the medics for the other guy."

His mother was proud of his transformation from high school rebel to responsible adult, which she credits in part to a program called Youth ChalleNGe.

Creamean wasn't in trouble with the law and didn't do anything illegal, his mother said, but if somone suggested skipping school, "he was the first one in the car."

Creamean is the 33rd serviceman with Arkansas ties to die in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.
