1. The Presidential Physical Fitness Award (PPFA), recognizes those with an outstanding level of physical fitness.
2. The National Physical Fitness Award (NPFA), for those achieving a basic, yet challenging level of physical fitness.
3. The Participant Physical Fitness Award, for those whose scores fall below the 50th percentile on one or more of the test items.

Core Components

The Puerto Rico Youth ChalleNGe Program is designed around an intervention model built on eight core components needed for successful living. The eight core components of the intervention model focus on the holistic development of the participants. Much of a corpsmember`s skill development process is based on deliberate experiential learning situations created by the staff. The eight core components and performance measures associated with each component are listed below.

Academic Curriculum

The ultimate goal of this course is to provide each Corpsmember with the educational tools needed to survive and compete in the job market.  To instill in each Corpsmember a desire to improve oneself through lifelong learning, the Corpsmember will:
