Educational Opportunities for all TYA Graduates!

A recent meeting with representatives of the TRiO program offered valuable information for educational services they make available for young adults. For instance:

• Academic guidance and tutoring
• Assistance in applying for financial aid (FAFSA)
• Academic assessment and placement recommendations
• Partnerships with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services, State Employment Services and Workforce Centers across the state.

Most college campuses have a TRiO program but if you need help locating a representative call the TYA Counseling Department at 918-824-4837.

Remember Workforce Centers offer information about available jobs and training in your area. Staff members in the Workforce offices are a useful resource in any job search. Also, feel free to utilize the services of the TYA Counseling Department for updating resumes and discussing your placement choices.

If you need to continue your education and/or training contact the Career Tech in your area. Vocational training recognized by employers across the state can now be added to a college transcript.
