CLOTHING

• 6- Pairs of white underwear briefs or boxer briefs (no boxers)
• 6- Red T-shirts (no v-necks)
• 10- Pairs of white socks (White mid calf with no logos)
• Pair of shower shoes thong type only
• Pair of running shoes (Must be a running shoe, no high tops or deck shoes)
• 2 White towels (white only)
• 2 Washcloths (White only)
• 3 Pair of white long underwear (winter class only)
• Plain black stocking cap (winter class only)
• Nylon mesh laundry bag.
• Black permanent marker (sharpie)

FEMALES ONLY

• 6 White sport bras (must have good support)
• 6 Pairs of white underwear (full cut -- NO THONG, BIKINI, ETC…)
• Brush and comb
• Package of black hair ties
• Shampoo/conditioner
• Non-alcohol hair gel
• Feminine hygiene products

SCHOOL SUPPLIES

• Package of pens and pencils
• Spiral notebook
• Zippered binder
• Dial-type combination padlock (Master lock preferred)
• 12 inch ruler

PERSONAL HYGIENE ITEMS

• Bottle of unscented sun block SPF 30 or higher
• Bar soap and plastic bar soap holder
• Fingernail clippers (without fingernail file)
• Chapstick (unflavored)
• Personal hygiene bag (shaving bag)
• Package of disposable razors
• Shaving cream or paste (no gels)
• Toothpaste (tube type only)
• Toothbrush with plastic holder (no power type toothbrush)
• Dental floss (unflavored)
• Deodorant (stick type only, no sprays of any kind)
• Bottle of hand/body lotion (unscented)
• Can of Kiwi brand black wax shoe polish (no liquids)

LETTER WRITING SUPPLIES

• Book of stamps
• Box of envelopes

ATTN: Any civilian clothing worn by an applicant on in-processing day must meet the following standards:

• Jeans -- No holes or frayed cuffs
• Shirt -- Collared with shirt tail tucked in
• Clothing is not to have any logos (only the manufacturer’s name is allowed)
• No t-shirts, dress outfits, or dress shoes

DO NOT BRING THESE ITEMS

• Aerosol cans
• Mouthwash
• Straight razors
• Scissors
• Hair dying products
• Hats of any kind
• Luggage of any kind

MISCELLANEOUS

• Applicant may bring a pre-paid phone calling card.
• A watch is the only authorized jewelry that may be worn by a cadet
• Cadets will bring $20, but no more. Please bring (1) $10 bill and (2) $5 bills. This is to pay the barber on in-processing day. Males will receive haircuts regardless of hair length.
• Cadets are allowed to bring no more than 10 pictures with them. (no gang or party pictures will be allowed)

Please read and follow the above packing list. If at some time during your cadet’s stay at Thunderbird Youth Academy they need items that are not on the above list you will receive a letter and or a phone call telling you so.
