Mentor Training

Mentor Training

The National Guard Challenge Bureau requires all mentors to attend a MANDATORY mentor training workshop before being officially matched to their cadet.  The training will address the mentor's role and requirements both during the Residential and Post-Residential phase of the program.  All prospective mentors will receive notification by mail concerning the mandatory training.

Mentor Training Workshop Schedule:

Mentors have 3 dates they can choose from to attend a training.   Dress code is casual for the workshops. 

Location:  TYA Pryor Campus - Bldg 302 Counseling Bay

  • 26 July 2008 (8:00 am to 12:00 pm)
  • 9 August 2008 (8:00 am to 12:00 pm)

Immediately after the workshops in Pryor ONLY, mentors are welcome to stay and have lunch with their cadet at the Dining Facility on grounds.  Cost for a hot meal at the DFAC is $5.09.  This will include the meal, salad bar, drink and desert.  Mentors are required to RSVP their attendance for both the mentor training and dining at the facility.  Please RSVP your attendance.

Mentor/Cadet Matching Ceremony

The Mentor/Cadet Matching Ceremony will be held at the Pryor Campus on 7 September 2008 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.   Immediately after the ceremony, mentors will be allowed to take cadets off post for their first mentor pass.
