In-Processing

In-Processing Day

Final Mandatory Check-in (all accepted candidates)

  • If you have been selected as a candidate for Pre-Challenge to compete for a seat in the next class, you will be notified of a designated location, date and time to report for checking into the Academy.
     
  • ONLY one parent/guardian allowed.  Boyfriends and girlfriends must say their goodbyes at home.  No pets are allowed on grounds.
     
  • Parents/guardians must stay until released by staff; plan on at least 6 hours.
     
  • Candidates should eat the appropriate meal prior to reporting.  Tip for Parents/Guardians...bring a snack.
  • Bring your required Packing List items in a nylon mesh laundry bag - NO LUGGAGE.  Please remove ALL body piercings before reporting to the Academy.
     
  • You should bring $20.00 in cash (all in ones) for the purpose of $15 hygiene products as needed and $5 for haircut (given to all males on the first day).
     
  • Any unauthorized items brought will be confiscated and sent home with your guardian.
     
  • Your acceptance is contingent upon passing a drug test administered the day you arrive.  Be sure to drink plentry of water before reporting at your specified time slot above.

TIP:  Bring a card/letter of encouragement for your candidate to in-processing to give to TYA.  A short, positive message from you is a great way to help get them through their first night away from home.
