Scholarship Information
There are a number of scholarships available for ChalleNGe graduates for post secondary education.
Obtain an application form from a teacher or counselor, or by clicking on this link: Scholarship Application (.doc)
Fill in the application completely and legibly.
As directed in #4 of the application form, you must submit an essay and one letter of recommendation from someone familiar with your academic achievements and plans for the future.
Submit your completed application to the Lead Teacher, or mail to MYCP, 790 E. Cornell St., Dillon, MT 59725 .
The Super Quad will then review all qualified applications. The individuals selected for scholarships will be announced at graduation.
Internal Scholarships:
ChalleNGe Scholarship
The ChalleNGe Scholarship is a University of Montana - Western scholarship of $1,000. Upon successful completion of a semester at UMW, the student may be eligible for additional funds. Academic performance, life plans and assessments along with the applicants essay and recommendations will all be considered. One residential and one post residential scholarship may be awarded.
Submit to Lead Teacher: ChalleNGe Scholarship application, including essay and recommendation. Deadline is the first Monday of graduation month (June or December, depending on cycle) by 1700.
Montana Army National Guard Thrift Shop Scholarship
This is a $500 scholarship awarded to a student who has applied to a college, technical, trade school or other post secondary school. Academic performance, life plan and assessments along with the applicants essay and recommendations will all be considered. There may be two recipients of this scholarship of $500 each. * This award is only available to those cadets who have already registered for a post secondary program.

Horatio Alger Scholarship
The Horatio Alger Scholarship is a $2,500 award for individuals pursuing a Bachelor's degree at one of the following colleges:
The University of Montana
U of M Western
U of M College of Technology
Helena College of Technology
MT Tech
Applicants must have a family income under $50,000, involvement in co-curricula and community activities, a minimum of a 2.0 GPA and be a resident of Montana.
**Point of Contact is Mrs. Pittman: This scholarship opens in August and closes in October; it is awarded for the following school year. If interested, see Counselor Pittman and she will explain the application process.
Imagine America Scholarship
Each year, every high school in the U.S. and Puerto Rico can select up to three seniors to receive a $1,000 Imagine America scholarship. Students must have applied and been accepted at a technical school. In addition the following selection guidelines will be considered: the likelihood of successful completion of post secondary education, GPA of 2.5 or higher, financial need and demonstration of voluntary community service during their senior year.

The Merrill - Lynch Scholarship
This is a $2,000 scholarship available for students attending a 2-year or 4-year college or trade school. Preference will be given to those on track for study in the area of fincance or business. Criteria will include academic performance and documented plan for further education.
Submit to Lead Teacher: ChalleNGe Scholarship application, including essay and recommendation. Deadline for this application is December 1st, 2008. Point of contact for further information about this scholarship is Counselor Pittman.
Hispanic College Fund
The scholarship application deadline is April 15th of every year. HCF has awarded over $5.3 million in scholarships to over 2,372 students since 1994. In 2004, HCF awarded over $1.8 million in scholarships
HCF scholarships range from $500 to $5,000. The average award is approximately $3,000 and is restricted to the payment of tuition and fees or educational expenses. Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered.
Must be a US citizen or permanent resident of Hispanic background residing in the fifty states or Puerto Rico.
Must be pursuing a bachelors degree in business, science, or technology major.
Must be starting as a college freshman, sophomore, junior or senior by fall of that year.
Must plan to enroll as a Full-Time Undergraduate student from the fall of that year through the Spring of the following year.
Must be applying to be enrolled in a college or university in the fifty states or Puerto Rico.
Must be in good academic standing with a cumulative Grade Point Average of no less then 3.00 on a 4.00 scale.
