Cadet Awards:
Florida Youth ChalleNGe Academy offers many awards to recognize outstanding Cadets. The following is a list of awards that Cadets may earn:
PLATOON AWARDS - These streamers are tied to the platoon guidons, the flags that signify each platoon.
Academic Excellence Award - based on the platoons academic progression
Physical Fitness Excellence Award - each platoon will conduct a physical fitness evaluation, the platoon with the highest score will win the award.
Drill & Ceremony Award - Standard Drill and trick drill will be the basis for this award.
Honor Platoon Award - based on the highest scores of the above-mentioned activities, your platoon has the opportunity to become THE HONOR PLATOON.
Service to the Community Award - The platoon with the highest hours of service will receive this award.
Honor Barracks Award - based on that platoon which exhibits the greatest degree of cleanliness and uniformity.
INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
Distinguished Cadet Ribbon- (N-1-1)
Criteria- Scholastic Excellence awarded weeks 6, 10, 14, 18, and 22. To cadets who exhibit the highest degree of academic excellence. Cadets who have earned their High School Diploma by passing the FCAT and their GED.

Academic Excellence Ribbon- (N-1-2)
Criteria- Scholastic Excellence awarded weeks 6, 10, 14, 18, and 22. To cadets who exhibit the highest degree of academic excellence. Cadets who have earned their GED.

Academic Achievement Ribbon- (N-1-3)
Criteria- Scholastic Excellence awarded weeks 6, 10, 14, 18, and 22. To cadets who improved their grade point averages in all subjects

Recruiting Ribbon- (N-4-2)
Criteria- awarded to those cadets who recruit (5) candidates in the Florida Youth ChalleNGe Academy.
Student Government Ribbon- (N-1-5)
Criteria- awarded to cadets elected to an academy student government office and to those cadets serving as chairpersons of student committees. Week # 5.

Color Guard/Honor Guard- (N-3-6)
Criteria- Awarded to those cadets selected to serve on the academy Color Guard/Honor Guard. Must have impeccable appearance, bearing and discipline. Must continually show academic improvement.
Awarded & Selected By-CSM
Good Conduct Ribbon- (N-3-10) awarded weeks 6, 10, 14, 18, and 22.
Criteria-Awarded to those cadets who continually demonstrate outstanding conduct. The cadet must have no more than 3 spot reports during weeks 4-14 and no more than two during weeks 15-22 to earn this award. Subsequent awards for good conduct will be knots.
Awarded By- Team Leaders & Platoon Sergeants
Rites of Passage Ribbon- (N-3-11) awarded at the conclusion of Week#2 Pre-ChalleNGe.
Criteria- must successfully complete Pre-ChalleNGe and be selected as a cadet of Florida Youth ChalleNGe Academy.
Awarded by-Commandant of Cadets and CSM.
Community Service Ribbon- (N-3-14) awarded weeks, 6, 10, 14,18 and 22.
Criteria- award to cadets after they have completed 10, 20, 30 and 40 hours of community service. Subsequent awards 2-5 will be gold oak leaf clusters.
Awarded By- Commandant of Cadets, Team Leaders and Platoon Sergeants.
Mentor Match Ribbon - Awarded during the Mentor Match Ceremony.
Criteria- awarded to cadets after having gone through mentee training and their mentor also has successfully completed mentor training and both have signed mentor/mentee contract.
Awarded By- Mentor Coordinator and RPM Coordinator
Level of Excellence Ribbon (Ribbon 1 - Red) - Awarded after Family Day
Criteria- good conduct, progress being made in all aspects, sustained writing to mentor, pass 4 of 5 inspections.
Awarded By- Commandant of Cadets, First Sergeant
Level of Excellence Ribbon (Ribbon 2 - Green) - Awarded after 1st Placement Pass
Criteria- all requirements for Red Ribbon and mentor matched, improvements on Pre-GEDs or passing GEDs, improvement on Presidential Fitness Test.
Awarded By- Commandant of Cadets, First Sergeant
Level of Excellence Ribbon (Ribbon 3 - Gold) - Awarded after 2nd Placement Pass
Criteria- all requirements for Green Ribbon and Post-Residential Action Plan completed, placement in either workforce, military, or college/trade school after graduation.
Awarded By- Commandant of Cadets, First Sergeant
