Directions and Lodging

Grizzly Youth Academy is located in beautiful San Luis Obispo at Camp San Luis - Home of the California National Guard.  We are on Higway 1 (Santa Rosa St.) halfway between San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay.   We are right next to Cuesta Community College.   Directions:   

If you go to MAPQUEST, the only thing that works is:

Under business, type in:
Camp San Luis Obispo - California National Guard
Under Intersection, type in:
10 Sonoma Ave.     (DO NOT use this as a mailing address)
Under City type in:  San Luis Obispo    Zip: 93405-7605

OR: From either North or South, get to the 101 freeway.  When you get to San Luis Obispo, look for the Morro Bay,
Highway 1 turnoff, towards Hearst Castle (It is also called Santa Rosa)   Continue on Highway 1 (Santa Rosa) for about 5 miles.   You will see a sign that says "Camp San Luis Obispo, left lane".  Turn left onto the base go through the guard gate.   Continue STRAIGHT down the main road and you will run into our headquarters, building 721.

To enter the base, you must have current registration, insurance, and a valid drivers license.  Passengers over 18 must also have a picture ID.  Down load the vehicle pass and fill it out beforehand and present it to the gate guards.
