The overall purpose of adventure training fits into the idea of the well-rounded cadet. This program gives the individual cadet the opportunity to experience things that they might otherwise not be able to participate in for reasons such as funding, lack of instruction, apprehension, or just no knowledge that the activity exists.

The goal of life skills training is to upgrade participants' skills so they can secure employment with wages that enable them to be self-sufficient, as well as obtain knowledge to make decisions.

The Alaska Military Youth Academy provides a broad range of support services to its ChalleNGe Program cadets. The goal is to assist students in successfully completing the demanding ChalleNGe course.

There are Eight Core Components of the Alaska Military Youth Academy. Cadets must successfully complete all eight components to graduate from the Academy. The core components are designed to educate and produce youth that will become productive members of the community upon graduation.

The Alaska Military Youth Academy is accredited by the Northwest Association of Accredited Schools as a Secondary Special Purpose School.
About us
The Alaska Military Youth Academy's ChalleNGe Program is designed to meet the life coping skills and educational needs of 16 to 19 year old Alaskans who will not turn 20 prior to graduation. The Youth ChalleNGe program is a 22 week residential school based on the traditional military training model.
